Routine foot care

Cracked Heels

Cracked heels occur when the skin lacks moisture causing the skin to become dry, hard and inflexible. This problem is more common in people with psoriasis, eczema, diabetes and other conditions that leads to dry skin. If left untreated and as more pressure is placed on the heel, the cracks will become deeper and more painful and there may be a risk of infection. It is advisable to regularly moisturise your feet, especially around the heel area to avoid this problem as well as avoid wearing backless shoes. If you suffer with this condition, at Feetwise Footcare we can help you restore your heels back to their former beauty by painlessly removing the hard, dry skin and applying rich moisturising cream after treatment. You may, however, want to add on a Prende warm wax treatment which contains essential oils which have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and intense moisturising effects. We will also be able to advise you on a suitable self care regime to ensure your heel continue to feel soft, flexible and crack free.
